Situated at the crossroads of Asia, Europe and Africa, Dubai is the ideal tourist destination that offers an interesting combination of Arab charm and western comforts.

Dubai is the most popular of the seven of the United Arab Emirates as it provides abundant sights and shopping along with security to any tourist who visits it. Good accommodation and variety of food are also available in plenty. So visit Dubai and discover its charms on land and water.

Big Bus Ride to Explore Dubai

The best way to explore Dubai on land is by traveling in the Big Bus. A day’s bus ticket allows you to travel in the Red bus to explore its mosques and malls; a ride in the Blue bus to view its beaches and landmark buildings, a Dhow cruise and an ‘Abra’ ride to enjoy the beauty and scenes of the Dubai creek. Also the tourists are given a ticket to the museum and a walking trip from the museum to the Gold souq.

To Jumeira Mosque and Malls of Dubai

From the top of the bus, one can take beautiful pictures of the scenes around. One can get down from the bus to admire the Jumeira mosque, the biggest and the most beautiful mosque of Dubai. This impressive stone edifice with its prominent dome and twin minarets is a landmark of the city.

The Malls of Dubai are as artistic as its mosques and palaces. View the City Centre, Mercata and Wafi City Mall from the bus or get down to shop for branded goods in these marvelous market zones. The landmark hotels and buildings of Dubai can be viewed from the Blue Bus that travels along the beach route.

Arabian Dhow Cruise and Abra ride on Dubai Creek

A visit to Dubai is incomplete without a ride on its Arabian Dhow cruise and ‘Abra. While the ‘Dhow’ is a bigger liner with comfortable seats, the ‘Abra’ is a small traditional water taxi that plies to and fro the creek. The best way to travel in Dubai is by an ‘Abra.’ It is a cheap, fast and pleasurable mode of transport to view the activity on the creek, the lively locals and the heritage structures lining the shore.

From Dubai Spice Market to Gold Souq

To taste the best of Dubai shopping, walk from the Spice market to the Gold Souq. Shops loaded with a variety of colourful spices, dry fruits, curios and fabrics are lined along the way. Bargain to get the best deal. At the Gold Souq, the dazzle of the yellow metal and its exquisite designer jewellery (Indian, Italian or Oriental) in 22 ct. and 18 ct. will tempt anyone to enter its shops and take home a piece or two.

Shop in the morning or night but don’t ever fear of being robbed of your precious purchase. Dubai is a very safe and secure city. Since stealing is a heinous crime here nobody dares to rob you of your belongings. So take a long walk early in the morning or travel at night and be at peace.

Dubai Desert Safari and Dune Bashing

Before bidding adieu to Dubai, don’t forget to go on a desert Safari tour. It is exciting to experience dune bashing, view the sandy scenes from the top of a camel, adorn your palms with ‘henna’ in a Bedouin camp, watch Belly dancing and get photographed in traditional Arab costumes. There is no better way to get the feel of real Dubai. Discover Dubai if you can during the Gold festival (Jan. to Feb.) or else between November and March to enjoy a memorable trip.
